ASTER DM

Dr. Azad Moopen is the Chairman and Managing Director of our Company. He is a gold medalist in Medicine and a post graduate in General Medicine from University of Calicut, Kerala, India and a diploma holder in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases from Delhi University, Delhi, India. He is responsible for our Company’s overall business operations and is responsible for setting forth the group strategy and vision. He also serves as a director of NORKA Roots and the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation. He has set up Dr. Moopen’s Foundation, a charitable foundation for extending healthcare charitable benefits to the less privileged. He has been a Director of our Company since its incorporation. He has been honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Shri Award in 2011 and the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman in 2010. He has also been conferred the Best Doctor Award by the Government of Kerala in 2009. He has also received the Arab Health Award from the Arab Health Forum in 2010, the Arabian Business Achievement Award from the ITP Publishing Group in 2010 and the Healthcare CEO of the Year Award at the CEO Middle East Awards 2015.

T. J. Wilson is a Director of our Company and the Group Head – Goveranance and Corporate Affairs, GCC. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Calicut, Kerala, India. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. In the past, he has worked with Koyenco Feeds Private Limited and Parle (Exports) Limited. He is responsible for overseeing the legal, secretarial and governance function, internal audit and large portfolio of new hospital projects. He has been a Director of our Company since April 20, 2009.

Alisha Moopen is the Deputy Managing Director of our company. Having joined the company as a Director in 2013, she is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and development of the company, and notably spearheading the expansion of the group into new markets.
Alisha was recently elected by World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader to join the class of 2018. Recognizing her past work in healthcare, she has been inducted into a 5-year program with like-minded people who are committed and passionate to tackle the main challenges of the world today, with healthcare being one of them. She was also recognized as one of the Top 100 World’s Greatest Leaders in Asia and GCC in 2018. Forbes Middle East magazine has selected Alisha as one of the Top Next Generation Indian Leaders in 2018. She also won Khaleej Times’ Emerging Leaders Award 2018 for Healthcare. She is a Chartered Accountant from the ICAS (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland) and worked earlier with Ernst & Young. She graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with distinction in Finance & Accounting.
Alisha’s philosophy in life is ‘Healthiness is Happiness’. She wants to enable quality healthcare across the globe through treating people with compassion, precision and excellence. She is dedicated to the cause of women empowerment and mental health. She believes in the diversity of workforce, strength in differences and focused on improving the glass ceilings at work for women. She was instrumental in launching the Women in Leadership programme at Aster DM Healthcare which empowers talented and capable female employees with training and growth opportunities, to shape them for leadership roles. She is also an active philanthropist, being a trustee of Aster DM Foundation and involved in social welfare through Aster Volunteers programme which bridges the gap between people who would like to help with those in need.
Alisha Moopen is dedicated to ensure that humanity leverages on advances in science as well as personal re-engineering of self, ranging from lifestyle choices to dealing with the external environment, to staying happy and healthy, both physically and mentally. She believes using technology can enable better health outcomes for population management through precision medicine, connected care and AI.

Sreenath Reddy is the Group Chief Financial Officer. He was appointed to this post on November 15, 2012. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a bachelor’s degree in Law, both from the Bangalore University, Bangalore, India. He is experienced in the field of accounts and finance. Prior to joining our Company he was working as the chief financial officer of Narayana Hrudalaya Limited.

Fara Siddiqi is the Group Chief Human Resources Officer. She joined our group on June 14, 2017. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Arts from Purdue University. She has also completed a HR Management Program from Rice University and a Leading People Program from University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School. Prior to joining Dr. Moopen’s Healthcare Management Services LLC, she worked as the Group HR Director at Gems Education and was earlier the Vice President – HR at Bank of America.

Dr. A. Malathi is the chief medical and quality officer of our group. She was appointed to this post on February 16, 2015. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from Bangalore University and a master’s degree in Human Physiology from Bombay University. She has also completed a training programme in hospital administration from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She is experienced in the field of healthcare. Prior to joining Dr. Moopen’s Healthcare Management Services LLC, she has worked at Fortis Hospitals Limited, Manipal Health Enterprises Private Limited and Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College.

Veneeth has over two decades of experience in leading technology enablement and transformation across Retail, Education and Healthcare sectors. Prior to joining Aster DM Healthcare, he was the CIO of Fortis Healthcare.
An ISB-Kellogg School of Management Alumni and a certified Healthcare CIO (CIOH) and a board member and joint secretary at CHIME India Chapter.
He is a CIO – Hall of Fame honoree and was conferred the Images Most Admired CIO of the year – Retail in 2015 by the Images Retail Organization. He is also awarded India’s Top 50 CIO’s by CIO Associations of India.

A doctor with exceptional leadership skills, Dr. Harish Pillai joined the Aster DM Healthcare Group as the CEO of Aster Medcity, Kochi in the year 2013. His ability to strategize and manage large-scale healthcare organisations helped Aster Medcity consolidate its place among the top hospitals in the country in a matter of just one year.
In 2015, Dr. Harish Pillai was promoted as the Cluster Head of Aster DM Healthcare in Kerala, which includes Aster Medcity Kochi, Kerala’s first JCI accredited 670-bed quaternary care hospital; Aster MIMS Calicut, India’s first NABH accredited 600-bed tertiary care hospital; Aster MIMS Kottakkal, a 200-bed NABH accredited secondary care hospital and DM WIMS, Wayanad, a 575-bed NABH accredited hospital and medical college. His responsibilities also extend to Aster Prime Hospitals, 150-bed multi-speciality hospital in Hyderabad. As the Cluster Head, Dr. Harish Pillai is also responsible for commissioning the upcoming three green-field projects of the group.
An expert in hospital administration, quality and brand management, business strategy, product launches and joint ventures, Dr. Harish Pillai has played a significant role in the development of the healthcare industry in India and the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) by setting new benchmarks in quality and patient care.
Prior to joining Aster DM Healthcare, Dr. Harish Pillai was the CEO of Egypt’s biggest private tertiary care hospital – As Salam International Hospital, Cairo, for over 7 years.
One of the most influential leaders in the Indian healthcare industry, Dr. Harish Pillai is a Member of the Joint Commission International (JCI) Standards Advisory Panel; President of Association of Healthcare Providers (AHPI) – Kerala Chapter; National Co- Chair for Medical Value Travel Committee in Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI); Elected secretary of the Kerala Medical Value Travel Society (KMVTS); visiting faculty at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai and Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) Hyderabad.

Jobilal M. Vavachan is the Assistant Vice President & Chief Executive Officer of Aster Pharmacy & Aster Clinics.
He joined the group on July 14, 2005 and his expertise is in the field of Pharmacy Retailing, Strategic Planning, Operations Management & Business Development. He has overseen the growth of the pharmacy vertical and initiated new concepts in Healthcare Retailing. Aster Pharmacy Group was reckoned with many Quality and Business Excellence awards under his leadership, viz. Dubai Quality Appreciation Award (2016), Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Business Excellence (2015) & DSES Awards for Service Excellence in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016,2017 & 2018 along with Sheikh Khalifa Business Excellence award (2018), Dubai Innovation Award (2018) & Dubai Human Development Award (2018).

Mr. Jobilal holds a Master in Business Administration(MBA) from INSEAD, France. He is also a pharmacy graduate from Bangalore University and has completed the executive management program from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in General Management & Strategic HRM.

Andre is the CEO – Medcare Hospitals & Medical Centers, GCC. He leads the definition and implementation of business strategies, revamping the patient experience, paving way for digitalization, organic business growth & expansion through M&A.

Andre has over 20 years track record of leading insurance, finance and e-Business industries. He has a diploma in insurance from St. Joseph University Lebanon and has completed a higher diploma leadership development from University College of Cork, Ireland.

Dr. Satish is a medical doctor holding MD in Pediatrics from MKCG Medical College, Behrampur, Odisha and has over 16 years of experience in innovation. He is an expert in technology led healthcare research, health system design and innovation management. Having worked with organizations like Xerox Innovation Lab (PARC), ARSIE Labs (Wipro-IMEC), Intel labs, Philips Research and Siemens Healthcare, his major research focus has been on Al Computer vision, Machine learning loT, Cognitive Behavioral Modeling and Healthcare/ Behavioral Economics. Prior to joining Aster DM Healthcare, he was associated with Xerox Innovation Lab as Chief Medical innovation Manager.
He is a Board member in DERBI foundation, Revx Accelerator, reviewer and tech board for GITA (Govt’s bilateral innovation fund). He is also a part of FundRx (Medical innovation fund) & HITLAB (Healthcare Innovation Lab) where he identifies opportunities for investments in startups. He has over fifteen patents and various publications, numerous successful tech transfers like multisensory wearable, mpersuasion, remote-pregnancy monitoring, physio-lock continuous authentication and authentication for risk-based premium are products now.

Devanand Kolothodi is serving as the Regional CEO for Telangana & Andhra Pradesh Cluster.  He is responsible for the Administration and P&L of 6 hospitals and Aster Labs under the cluster.  He has good insights of Tier I, II & III healthcare market and understand the intricacies of running a successful healthcare practice in developed, emerging and rural markets.

He started his career in Sales & Marketing in 1997 and moved to retailing in 2007.  His stint in Aster DM Healthcare started in 2009 as Manager – Recruitment (India) and his roles transitioned from Special Officer – Medical College, Senior Project Administrator, Chief Administrative Officer – Dr.Moopen’s Academy, Chief Executive Officer – Aster Prime Hospital and now – Regional CEO. 
  
He is a Member of Indian Chamber of Commerce National Healthcare Committee, Program Member (E-Cell) - IIT Hyderabad, Former Administration Secretary for Kerala Private Medical College Management Association, Speaker and Panellist at various institutions and forums including IIM-Lucknow, ASCI, IIT-Hyderabad, Glocal India Conclave, Healthcare Transformation Summit, Economic Times Healthcare Summit, etc. 
 
People development through mentoring and coaching has been one of his focus areas. He enjoys blogging, networking and is an active Aster Volunteer. 

Mr. Farhaan Yasin is a passionate leader with strong managerial skills. Mr. Farhan Yasin joined the Aster DM Healthcare Group as the CEO of Aster MIMS, Kannur in the year 2018.  He plays a pivotal role in bringing Aster MIMS Kannur at the forefront of healthcare delivery with utmost patient care. He has the proven track record in achieving growth objectives in a timely manner all over his career. 
 
Subsequently, Mr. Farhan Yasin was promoted as the MIMS Cluster Head of Aster DM Healthcare in Kerala that included 3 hospitals. He is also responsible for commissioning the upcoming green-field projects of the group at Kerala cluster. In April 2021 Mr. Farhan Yasin was promoted as the Regional Director- Kerala cluster of Aster India that is currently spread across 4 districts and has 5 hospitals with around over 1750 beds.
